...about you. I am, I love this man. He is wicked crazy, artistic...and most of all, very loving. We act like a couple of fools every time that we are together...which is every day. But at the same time, we balance each other. Manic and Mania...serene and lunatic.

This was inspired by the girls at candy shoppe designs. Their challenge was to use every color of the rainbow. A HUGE challenge to me as I try to focus my designs to roughly 3 or 4 colors. I used them all...along with that stash of unused ribbons and buttons...I love buttons. Finally something to do with them!!!

my girl at the pink ninja's had a fantastic challenge and I had a brainstorm last night. I wanted to get it done but I haven't been very fond of shoes in the last couple of days. Blame it on the stars, blame it on the weather...but I am living without shoes. SOOOOO, just for kicks...these are my favorite kicks these days. Bare feet! And who wouldn't want to do that in the heat of the summer. I can feel the grass between my toes, I feel great!

New tattoo

So my girl Ki phoned me up a couple of weeks ago and suggested we go and get a tattoo. Sure, I was so into that! Initially, I always wanted to get a star somewhere on my back but I really needed to do some more thought on it. I really didn't have alot of time so the best thing that I could think of when I was in the studio was to get them on my feet. At least I could look at them everyday. I have a tattoo on my back and seeing that is next to impossible. It took about an hour and placement was really not an issue. I love the idea of random. I love these little stars. Its difficult right now to wear shoes but...who cares, its summertime. Who wants to wear shoes, right??

Can I just say how much I love these little things. I join swaps all the time. I can't wait to have a theme and start working on them right away. They are bursts of little creative passions. This one is for a swap I am in. As soon as I joined I had the design all set up in my mind and this one came together relatively fast. Of course I couldn't put the thing down and added a few touches here and there. "Just put it down, walk away from it" my brain keeps telling me. But do I listen...

Guilty

I had a burst of creativity in the last hour...perhaps its a picture or series of pictures that I pieced together not to long ago. We were in Tofino BC last year and was watching yet another glorious sunset. We sat on the rocks and didn't really speak but was mesmorized by the beauty of the sun as it set across the universe. I didn't want to leave, I wanted time to stand still, perhaps for only one more minute just to watch the last glimmers of light fade away from my sight.

some quiet time please?

Do you ever just want to be by yourself? Shut the door and lock it, throw away the key? My job is fast paced, people coming and going, small talk...big talk...yadda yadda yadda. I feel overwhelmed, like some tiny little spring is going to dislocate and throw a wrench in the whole system. The perfect idea...kick everyone out of the house. Exactly what I did. Now to decide what to really do on my day off on Canada's birthday. Walk along the funky whyte avenue and spend some dough, maybe pick up a sandwich and head down to the park, grab a blanket and watch the clouds. Hmmmm, finish that painting...nah. Not too artsy today. I just need a little emotional quiet time balance and it'll be ok. Now where did my coffee head off to?? Ah, there you are!!!

LOVE

my grandparents have been married for seventy years. 70 freakin years. Can you imagine that!! I can't imagine not coming over to their house at least 3 times a week. I just love to listen to them bicker, converse, bitch...grampa's hearing is a bit on the wild side...meaning he cannot hear anything. He can...I think it is what he thinks is important. Its funny to sit on the porch swing and listen to them...like birds...chitter chatter. Back and forth. I wish that I can only take these moments and stand them still. I know, that I love them dearly, they are my life, my whole world.

The sketch they had, I incorportated into what I could use. I usually only do 8.5 x 11 inch LO's. The two pictures that she had on the right side of her sketch, I put flowers and a cork bird instead as my page is limited to space. I also changed the journalling square to a deer. I used something old which was my alpha letters, mismatched. Something new, which is the cork elements. Something borrowed, the photograph as well as something blue.

me

Its hot and muggy. I've been restlessly pacing around the house waiting for something to happen. Anything. I didn't sleep well last night, tossed and turned and really should have gotten out of bed when I checked at the time. I miss my friend Ki. We keep wanting to get together, do anything but life keeps setting up its own appointments. I wish you could meet her. She is pure magic. So much life, so much heartache. So relentlessly going through the motions of the world. If you read this my love, I am thinking of you today...and everyday.
